Locally owned and operated by Peter & Kim Newberry, Newberry Bros. Coffee is a one-of-a-kind, award-winning Coffee Roaster, Bakery & Bourbon Bar located in Newport, KY. Newberry Bros. Coffee roasts coffee beans sourced from certified Organic, Fair-Trade farms and sells its coffee by the cup or by the pound to customers, and wholesale to specialty shops and cafés.

 

The Prohibition Bourbon Bar at Newberry Bros. Coffee features the largest collection of bourbon & rye whiskeys you'll find anywhere. Bar none. The bar also has a great selection of Scotch & Japanese whiskeys, cocktails, wine, craft beer, and an amazing assortment of handmade pastries, desserts, breads, and specialty coffee & espresso drinks. The bar’s Bottle Shop features an unbeatable selection of bourbon and rye whiskeys (many hard to find in liquor stores), including several private barrel selections. The Prohibition Bourbon Bar is a participating venue of The B-Line, an inviting collection of craft distilleries, bars and restaurants in Northern Kentucky, the Official Gateway to the popular and world famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail.The Prohibition Bourbon Bar is the "PAPPYiest Place on Earth," where you will find all Pappy Van Winkle bourbon and rye expressions,

 

Newberry Bros. Coffee & Prohibition Bourbon Bar is open on Friday & Saturday nights from 6-11PM, and for special occasions such as “Third Sunday Fun Day,” bourbon and wine tastings, private parties, and fundraising events for the Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP). This one-of-a-kind, award-winning Coffee Roaster & Bourbon Bar is located in the Historic East Row District of Newport, KY, just three blocks from the Ohio River and Newport on the Levee attractions. Newberry Bros. Coffee is proud to have been named “Best Independent Coffee House” by Cincy Magazine. The Prohibition Bourbon Bar has been named one of the "Best Bourbon Bars in America" by The Bourbon Review every year since it opened in 2014. The Prohibition Bourbon Bar is also a participating venue of The B-Line, an inviting collection of craft distilleries, bars and restaurants in Northern Kentucky, the Official Gateway to the popular and world famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail.

 

Newberry Bros. Coffee is Newport's original coffee roaster, featuring 100% Organic, Fair-Trade coffee and espresso roasted on-site, right in the front window. The aroma of the freshly roasted coffee fills the neighborhood streets in a cloud of coffee-scented steam. Those of you who have never tasted fresh-roasted coffee will be in for a fabulous treat. The coffee beans are sourced from certified Organic, Fair Trade family farms from areas such as Sumatra, Peru, Ethiopia, Mexico and Guatemala. Newberry Bros. Coffee sells coffee by the cup, by the pound, and wholesale to specialty shops, restaurants and cafés.

 

Newberry Bros. Coffee also features delectable handmade croissants, cinnamon rolls and assorted artisan pastries which are available on select Third Sundays of the month from 10AM – Noon. Customers can purchase handmade croissants – Ham & Swiss, Goetta & Cheddar, Pain au chocolat, Cheese and Plain – which have been compared to those found in the finest patisseries in Paris, France. On Friday & Saturday evenings, customers can enjoy small plates, and decadent desserts. 

 

What started out as a coffee roaster and coffee shop, quickly morphed into a Bourbon & Wine Bar after the couple obtained a liquor license in November 2013. During 2014, Peter and Kim focused a great deal on expanding their wine and bourbon offerings, amassing such a large selection of bourbon that they outgrew their space. In early 2015, the couple remodeled the attached garage space (with an adjoining outdoor patio), and in April 2015 opened The Prohibition Bourbon Bar - which features the largest collection of bourbon & rye whiskeys you'll find anywhere. Bar none. Over 6,000 and counting. The bar also has a great selection of Scotch, Irish, Tennessee and Japanese whiskeys, cocktails, wine and craft beer.

 

Bourbon and Wine Tasting Events, as well as fundraising events for the Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP), are held monthly. Indoor and outdoor patio seating. Dog friendly patio. Free parking. And so much more!
